Frequently Asked Questions
What is kava?
Kava is a traditional drink made from the root of the Piper methysticum plant, native to the Pacific Islands. It’s known for promoting relaxation, calmness, and social connection without impairing judgment or causing a hangover.
What does kava feel like?
Most people experience a relaxed body, calm mind, and easier conversations. Think of it as a clear, chill vibe — like unwinding without losing control. You stay present, social, and mentally sharp.
Do your drinks contain alcohol?
No. Our bar is 100% alcohol-free. Our beverages are made from kava and tea, designed to help you relax or focus depending on which you choose. Enjoy your night without the consequences of drinking alcohol.
Is kava safe to drink?
When consumed responsibly and in traditional, water-based preparations, kava has been enjoyed safely for centuries. If you have liver issues, take certain medications, or are pregnant or nursing, consult a healthcare provider before drinking kava. We encourage moderation and prioritize education.
How does kava compare to alcohol?
Unlike alcohol, kava doesn’t cause hangovers, impaired judgment, slurred speech, or next-day regret. It relaxes the body while keeping the mind clear — making it a popular choice for people wanting a healthier social alternative and a better morning after.
What is Botanical Tea?
Our Tea comes from the Southeast Asian area and can be used to improve mood and energy. Available in three varieties—White, Green, and Red—each commonly associated with a different experience. Individual experiences may vary.
Will kava make me tired?
Kava is commonly associated with relaxation, and some people describe feeling calm while remaining clear-headed rather than sleepy.
How long does it take to feel kava’s effects?
Most people feel the effects within 15–30 minutes. A brief, mild tingling or numbing sensation in the mouth can occur when drinking kava and typically fades quickly.
Can I drive after drinking kava?
Kava affects everyone differently and may cause relaxation or slower reactions. If it is your first time—or you feel tired, unsteady, or otherwise impaired—do not drive. Plan ahead and stay safe.
Do I need an ID to visit your bar?
There is no age restriction for traditional kava. Some of our drinks require guests to be 21 or older to purchase or consume, and a valid government-issued photo ID may be required.
